Swift Police Action Evacuates Residents from Burning Building

Residents of an apartment building in Jabłonowo Pomorskie experienced a moment of terror when a fire broke out in their home. Police officers from the local station were the first to arrive at the scene and took on the dangerous mission of evacuating residents.

On Saturday, February 15, at 21:00, the duty officer of the Brodnica police received a report of a fire in one of the apartments on Rynek Street. Officers quickly arrived at the location, where, despite heavy smoke, they decided to enter the building.

In the stairwell, police officers spotted two individuals whom they immediately ordered to leave the building. With full determination, they also went to higher floors to evacuate residents who were unable to escape due to limited visibility. The officers tried to access the apartment engulfed in flames, but due to the high temperature, it was impossible.

Soon after their arrival, firefighters joined the efforts. After extinguishing the fire, they discovered the body of a 58-year-old resident in the apartment where the fire started.

The fire was reported to the authorities by a tenant of the apartment building.
