Bethlehem Light of Peace 2024 – A Message of Love and Solidarity

On December 19, 2024, a special event took place in Brodnica, where sub-scoutmaster Michele Teska-Gulczyńska from the Brodnica Scout Command handed over the Bethlehem Light of Peace to local council members. This light, which began in Austria in 1986, has become a symbol of peace and mutual understanding among people.

Each year, after lighting the flame in the Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem, scouts from around the world participate in a great relay, carrying this special light. Since 1991, the Polish Scouting Association has organized this event, bringing the light to Poland and passing it on to other European countries.

This year's slogan, "Love in Action," emphasizes the importance of daily assistance to others and values such as brotherhood, solidarity, and peace. The Bethlehem Light of Peace is not only a symbol of hope but also a call to action for the common good.

It is also worth noting that the light will be handed over to the residents of Brodnica and the surrounding area on December 22, 2024, at 12:15 PM at the Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Brodnica. Everyone is warmly invited to participate!
