Competition for Animal Shelter Support

The Mayor of Brodnica has announced an open competition to support a public task in the field of animal protection for the year 2025. The aim of the competition is to operate a shelter for homeless animals in the area of the Municipality of the City of Brodnica.

Scope of Tasks

The tasks to be implemented in the competition include:

• Providing appropriate living conditions and veterinary care for homeless animals, including treatment and vaccinations,
• Feeding animals according to their species needs,
• Mandatory sterilization or castration of homeless animals unless health conditions prevent such procedures,
• Electronic marking (microchipping) of dogs after a 14-day quarantine and their registration in the nationwide database,
• Daily health checks of animals in the shelter,
• Humane euthanasia of blind litters,
• 24/7 acceptance of reports about animals in need of help,
• Care for free-ranging cats,
• Catching sick and homeless animals,
• Maintaining a register of caught animals,
• Interventions with the police regarding animal abuse cases,
• Hosting tours of the shelter,
• Finding new owners for homeless animals,
• Conducting educational campaigns,
• Facilitating volunteer work in the shelter.

Budget and Deadlines

The budget allocated for the implementation of the task in 2025 is 400,000 PLN. Applications must be submitted by March 21, 2025, by 10:00 AM at the Municipal Office of Brodnica, Room 101.
