Saving the Manor in Mileszewy - An Important Meeting for Future Generations

On February 28, a meeting was held in Mileszewy with the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Piotr Całbecki, dedicated to saving the 19th-century manor. The meeting was initiated by the Brodnica County Starost, Paweł Szramka, and aimed to respond to the appeal for the preservation of this significant historical heritage.

The manor in Mileszewy, associated with the Łyskowski and Łangowski families, is a place of great importance to the local community. Among the participants were local government representatives, including the Mayor of Jabłonowo Pomorskie, Marzanna Fettke, Senator Ryszard Bober, as well as local council members and residents. Notable attendees also included Ewa Rzepka, president of the "Do korzeni" Association, and Joanna Kalenik from the Gate of Epochs Foundation.

The meeting began with a presentation that highlighted the history of the manor and its significance for Polish identity during the partitions. Participants had the opportunity to view the manor and discuss plans for its future, which could contribute to its preservation. Marshal Całbecki emphasized that a crucial step in saving the property is to clarify ownership and inheritance issues.

The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship has experience in such matters, as demonstrated by the case of the Sczaniecki manor in Nawrze. The residents of Mileszewy are hopeful for a positive development in the situation and further steps toward saving the manor.
