Free Mammogram Screening at LUX MED

LUX MED Diagnostyka invites you to free digital mammogram screenings taking place on January 7th as part of the Breast Cancer Prevention Program funded by the National Health Fund. The screenings are available for women aged 45 to 74 and can be done at any location, regardless of residence, without a doctor's referral.

Eligibility Criteria for Screenings

Women are invited for screenings according to the following rules:

  • Every 24 months if they have not previously been diagnosed with malignant breast cancer.
  • Every 12 months if they have completed breast cancer treatment and the 5-year monitoring process after treatment.
  • Every 12 months if they are undergoing adjuvant hormone therapy (HT) after 5 years of surgical breast cancer treatment.

Exclusions from the Program

The program does not include women under “Care for families at high, genetically determined risk of breast or ovarian cancer” or “Comprehensive oncological care for beneficiaries with breast cancer.” When determining eligibility based on age, please consider the year of birth.

Registration and Preparation for the Screening

To register for the screening, please call 22 880 90 80 (*3). Before calling, prepare your ID for eligibility verification. It is advisable to bring previous mammogram images or CDs if they were not performed at LUX MED. Please arrive for the screening at the time specified during registration.

Location and Importance of Screenings

The mobile mammography unit of LUX MED is located at the Palace of Anna Wazówna, ul. Zamkowa 1. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, accounting for about 20% of all malignant cancer cases in Poland. The risk of developing it increases with age, and mammography is the most effective method for detecting breast cancer. Regular screenings allow for the detection of even small changes that are not noticeable during self-examination. Early detection of cancer enables effective treatment and nearly guarantees a return to health.

Fast Diagnostic Pathway

If abnormalities are detected, participation in the program ensures a quick diagnostic and treatment pathway. Continuous monitoring facilitates efficient contact with facilities conducting further diagnostics and accelerates necessary treatment.

Special Reminders

We particularly encourage women born in 1980 to take advantage of mammography in the program for the first time in 2025. We also remind that until the end of 2025, women born in 1951 will be able to undergo the examination for the last time without a referral.
