Woman is Poetry, a Meeting with Wazówna

In the calendar of events celebrating the Year of Princess Anna Wazówna, announced by the Brodnica County Council, many interesting activities have been prepared by schools, organizations, and local governments. One of them will take place this week at the Primary School in Gorczenica, a facility whose patron is the sister of King Sigismund III Vasa.

On Thursday, March 6 at 5:00 PM in the sports hall of the institution, a ceremonial meeting will be held to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Anna Wazówna's death. The Mayor of the Brodnica Commune and the Director of the Primary School in Gorczenica invite everyone to this event. Participants will have the opportunity to see the biography of the school's patron presented in a paper theater Kamishibai and to attend a poetry evening titled "Woman is Poetry." Additionally, there will be a promotion of a new publication by Dr. Alicja Saar-Kozłowska titled "Anna Wazówna" and the announcement of the results of historical and literary competitions along with the award ceremony for the laureates.

The program of the celebrations of the Year of Princess Anna Wazówna also includes outdoor events, runs, kayaking trips, competitions, lectures, open days, and a feast at the starost's place, Anna. We will keep you updated with details.
