III Municipal History Competition "Primus Inter Pares"

On March 18, 2025, the III Municipal History Competition "Primus Inter Pares" took place at the Primary School in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce for students in grades V-VII of primary schools in the Brodnica Commune. Eighteen students participated from three municipal primary schools: SP in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce, SP in Szabda, and SP in Gorczenica.

The aim of the competition was to develop historical interests and talents among the youth of primary schools in the Brodnica Commune, to shape practical skills in applying acquired knowledge, to promote history as a field of science, and to integrate students from grades V-VII of schools in the Brodnica Commune.

The competition committee consisted of history teachers, one from each participating school. The supervision of the competition was held by the Director of the Primary School in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce, Zenon Matuszewski. Responsible for the preparation and conduct of the competition were: Łukasz Tomella - history teacher at SP in Szczuce, Jolanta Brześkiewicz - history teacher at SP in Szabda, and Laura Bartnicka - Director of SP in Gorczenica.

During the competition, students solved a test consisting of 60 closed-ended questions, multiple choice. After the competition, the results were announced.

Grade V:

• 1st place: Hoga Jan - SP in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce
• 2nd place: Rumińska Laura - SP in Szabda
• 3rd place: Wiadro Fabian - SP in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce

Grade VI:

• 1st place: Bieżuński Filip - SP in Szabda
• 2nd place: Małkowski Oliwier - SP in Gorczenica
• 3rd place: Faraś Dominik - SP in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce

Grade VII:

• 1st place: Burszta Agata - SP in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce
• 2nd place: Stefański Hubert - SP in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce
• 3rd place: Stawska Lena - SP in Gorczenica

General School Classification:

• 1st place: SP in Gortatów with its seat in Szczuce
• 2nd place: SP in Szabda
• 3rd place: SP in Gorczenica

All competition participants received tangible prizes, sweet snacks, and drinks. The prizes were funded by the Mayor of the Brodnica Commune, Adam Zalewski.
