Appeal for Road Safety During Christmas Holidays

As Christmas approaches, we urge drivers to exercise caution and prudence on the roads. As every year, the police in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship will undertake actions aimed at ensuring road safety.

During this time, we can traditionally expect increased traffic from vehicles and pedestrians. The police will check speed, sobriety of drivers, and the proper transportation of children.

Statistics and Police Actions

Last year, during the holiday period (December 24-27, 2023), there were 5 accidents on the roads of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, none of which were fatal, but 8 people were injured. Police also stopped 49 drivers who had consumed alcohol before driving.

Road Safety

We appeal to all road users to adhere to regulations to enhance safety. Given the potential for variable weather conditions, we encourage adjusting speed according to the prevailing road conditions. If possible, leaving earlier can help avoid stress associated with traffic jams.

Before embarking on a journey, ensure that your vehicles are in good condition and have valid technical inspections.

Traffic Bans

According to the regulations, traffic restrictions will be implemented during the Christmas and New Year period:

  • December 25, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • December 26, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • January 1, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM

We urge everyone not to drive under the influence of alcohol. We wish everyone a safe and joyful holiday!
