We Remember! 20th Anniversary of the Death of St. John Paul II

Twenty years have passed since the day when Pope John Paul II, a saint of the Catholic Church since 2014, passed away on April 2, 2005. His pontificate went down in history as exceptional, full of spiritual teaching, numerous pilgrimages, and canonizations.

It is worth remembering that in 2005, the Brodnica City Council honored John Paul II with the title of Honorary Citizen of the City. In addition, in Brodnica there is a park, a street, and School Complex No. 1 bearing the name of the Polish Pope.

On the anniversary of the death of this outstanding Pole, Deputy Mayor Krzysztof Hekert, Chairman of the City Council Artur Dombrowski, Brodnica Starosta Paweł Szramka, Deputy Starosta Arkadiusz Orłowski, and Chairman of the County Council Marek Hildebrandt, on behalf of the residents of Brodnica and the county, laid flowers at the monument to John Paul II in Brodnica. Children from the "Misiaki" Kindergarten also participated in the ceremony, also paying homage to the Pope by laying flowers.
