Brodnica County Council Stands in Solidarity with Beekeepers

Brodnica, May 7, 2025 - The Brodnica County Council expressed its support for beekeepers, adopting a position on the difficult situation in the domestic beekeeping sector at the session on April 29.

This initiative, resulting from the work of the Commission for the Development of Rural Areas and Environmental Protection and consultations with representatives of beekeeping associations, aims to draw attention to the problems of the industry.

The County Council calls for limiting the import of low-quality honey from outside the European Union, increasing financial support for apiaries, maintaining ARiMR refunds at the current level, and intensively promoting Polish honey. According to the Council, the lack of real support may lead to the collapse of many apiaries and serious consequences for the entire ecosystem.

The County Council fully supports the demands of beekeeping associations, emphasizing the crucial role of beekeeping for Polish agriculture, public health and environmental protection.
