Brodnica Commemorated Heroes and Victims of World War II

On May 8, 2025, on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, residents of the Brodnica district gathered to commemorate the heroes and victims of this tragic conflict.

On behalf of the local community, Deputy Starost Arkadiusz Orłowski, together with a delegation of starosty employees, laid flowers at the Monument of Gratitude in Brodnica. The ceremonies were attended by delegations of local governments of the district and the city, representatives of the army, police, fire brigade, scouts, and numerous social and political organizations. The ceremonial guard at the monument was provided by the 4th Brodnica Chemical Regiment.

World War II, which began on September 1, 1939, and ended on May 8, 1945, was a global tragedy that claimed over 50 million lives. We remember the Poles, including the residents of the Brodnica district, who fought from the first to the last day of this war. Honor their memory!
