Festive Assembly in Brodnica: Building Bridges with Hearts

A moving assembly took place at the Special School Complex in Brodnica on May 13, 2025, to celebrate the Day of Dignity of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, which we celebrate on May 5. This year's event was held under the slogan "Building bridges from our hearts."

Message of the Assembly

The aim of the assembly was to raise public awareness of the needs and rights of people with intellectual disabilities. Małgorzata Wróblewska, a teacher at ZSS in Brodnica, emphasized that these people deserve our care, support and respect.

Student Performances

Students from grades I-VII of the Special Primary School and grades I-III of the Special Vocational Training School presented an artistic program. Performances included poetry recitations, song singing and dancing. A short performance highlighted the problem of discrimination and emphasized the importance of support from loved ones.

Organizers

The assembly was organized by Klaudia Więcławska, and she was supported by Marlena Szefler and Lidia Kaczmarczyk. The event evoked many positive emotions and prompted reflection on empathy and acceptance.

Summary

The Day of Dignity of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities is a great opportunity to break down barriers and stereotypes. Students of ZSS in Brodnica made excellent use of this opportunity, presenting their talents and sensitivity.
