35 Years of Local Government in Brodnica

Today we celebrate a special anniversary – 35 years since the first free local elections, which took place on May 27, 1990. This is a historic moment when the residents of towns and villages, for the first time after World War II, could elect their local representatives.

May 27 has been established as Local Government Day to commemorate this important event. In Brodnica, the motto "Time well spent" takes on special significance. Over these 35 years, thanks to the cooperation of the local community, authorities, and residents, our city has become a modern, friendly, and vibrant place.
