Welcome to Midsummer Night!

Join us for one of the most magical nights of the year! On Saturday, June 21, 2025, we will meet at Brodnica Castle to celebrate Midsummer Night together. This event is part of Brodnica Days.

What is Midsummer Night?

It's worth knowing that Kupala Night and Midsummer Night are not the same! The first is a Slavic holiday celebrated on the summer solstice night (from June 21 to 22), and the second is a Christian tradition from June 23 to 24, dedicated to John the Baptist. Today, these traditions often combine, creating a joyful celebration of life, love, and nature.

Evening Attractions

This year's edition in Brodnica will begin at 8:00 PM with a concert by the local band RayWah. At 10:00 PM, the Midsummer Night staging will begin in the moat from the Anna Wazówna Park side. On the program: a fire show by the Be Fire group, a dance of praise for life, a moon dance, and a search for the legendary fern flower!

Where does the name come from?

The name "Kupalnocka" probably comes from the Indo-European word "kump", meaning a group or community. Sometimes the name "Sobótka" is used, referring to the legend of a girl who died on the solstice night. Midsummer Night is a time when anything can happen - don't miss this opportunity!

Organizers and Partners

The organizer is the Society of Friends of the Regional Museum, and the partners are: the Museum in Brodnica, the "Sagitta" Association, and the Brodnica Commandery Knight Brotherhood. The event is co-financed by the Municipality of Brodnica.
