Two Serious Road Accidents in the Region

Yesterday, July 10, 2025, two serious road accidents occurred. Fortunately, the participants can consider themselves lucky, although the police fined the perpetrators for dangerous driving.

Accident on the Brodnica-Szczuka route

At 10:00 AM, an accident was reported on the Brodnica-Szczuka route. A Ford passenger car ran off the road and overturned. Nearby, a van hit a power pole.

The police determined that a 51-year-old resident of the Nowe Miasto district, driving a Mercedes van, collided with a Ford traveling correctly, and then fled the scene. On a bend in the road, he lost control of the vehicle and hit a street lamp. The 67-year-old Ford driver and the Mercedes driver were taken to the hospital. Both drivers were sober.

The perpetrator's driver's license was revoked, and he will face consequences for causing a hazard.

Accident in the city center

A few minutes after 6:00 PM, in the city center, a 20-year-old BMW driver lost control of the vehicle near the PKP building. He drove onto the sidewalk and hit a fence. A pedestrian avoided being hit. The driver was sober.

The man received a fine of 5,000 PLN and 10 penalty points.
