Solemn Police Day Celebrations in Bydgoszcz

On July 15, 2025, Bydgoszcz hosted the Provincial and Municipal Police Day Celebrations. The celebrations, held under the honorary patronage of the Chief of Police and the Municipal Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz, began with the laying of wreaths at the Memorial Tablet and the Memorial Stone.

Then, a holy mass was held in the Bydgoszcz Cathedral, celebrated by the Bishop of Bydgoszcz and the Chaplain of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Police. After the mass, the celebrations moved to the Old Market Square, where a ceremonial roll call took place. The Chief of Police received a report, and then decorations, medals, and promotions to higher ranks were presented.

The celebrations were attended by numerous guests, including representatives of state and local authorities, commanders of uniformed services, and former Provincial Police Commanders in Bydgoszcz. Over 1,000 police officers received promotions to higher ranks, and Medals for Long Service and badges "Meritorious Police Officer" were also awarded. Medals for Merit to the Police and Occasional Badges of the Provincial Police Commander in Bydgoszcz were also awarded on the occasion of the "140th anniversary of the birth of the patron of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz."

After the official part, a picnic was organized on Mill Island for residents and police families. The program included demonstrations by counter-terrorists, water rescue, dog training, as well as stands with weapons, a bicycle town and first aid training. The picnic, organized as part of the "Safety in Summer Moves Me" campaign, was very popular.
