Dear Residents of Brodnica!

We are addressing you with an important appeal regarding waste management in our commune. Despite the actions taken and the increase in waste collection fees from January 1, disposal costs are still rising. In the first half of the year, we recorded a loss exceeding half a million zlotys!

Key data:

• Average monthly waste generation per resident: 35 kg (24 kg mixed, 11 kg sorted)
• Cost of collecting 1 ton of mixed waste: PLN 1,787.40
• Cost of collecting 1 ton of sorted waste: PLN 1,020.60
• Estimated monthly cost per person: PLN 54.12
• National average for waste generation: approx. 30 kg per month per person

This means that in our commune we generate 16.6% more waste than the national average! If the situation does not change, we will be forced to increase waste fees.

We appeal for:

• Reducing the amount of waste through responsible shopping and choosing reusable products.
• Correct waste segregation in accordance with the applicable rules.
• Education in the field of waste management.
• Composting garden waste.
