105th Anniversary of the Battle of Brodnica - We Remember!

The residents of Brodnica and the surrounding areas proudly cherish the memory of the heroes of 1920. On the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Brodnica, which played a significant role in the Polish-Bolshevik War, solemn celebrations will be held.

Celebration Program - August 18, 2025

The organizers - the Starost of Brodnica, the Mayor of Brodnica, the Commander of the 4th Brodnica Chemical Regiment, and the Parish Priest of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Brodnica - cordially invite you to the celebrations commemorating this important event.

• 3:00 PM: Patriotic picnic in the park at the District Office. The program includes artistic performances, displays of military equipment and uniformed services, workshops and animations for families.
• 5:00 PM: Holy Mass, roll call of honor, and laying of flowers at the military cemetery in Lasek Miejski.
• Outdoor Exhibition: An exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Warsaw and the Battle of Brodnica can be viewed in front of the District Office.
• August 17-18: The mobile multimedia spectacle "Sparks of Independence" will be presented in the parking lot at Anna Vasa Palace.

The Battle of Brodnica, as the Kurier Poznański wrote in 1920, was a key moment in the fighting against the Bolsheviks in Pomerania. It enabled the capture of Lidzbark and Działdowo and the connection with General Sikorski's army, closing the encirclement of the enemy.
