County Harvest Wreath Competition in Brodnica - A Celebration of Tradition!

Brodnica, August 26, 2025 - The park near the County Starosty at Kamionka 18 Street in Brodnica once again became a place where tradition reigned. The County Harvest Wreath and Ornament Competition, organized since the early 2000s, took place there.

Record Number of Entries!

This year's edition was special due to the beauty of the works and a record number of entries. As many as 40 rural housewives' associations, village councils, senior clubs, and associations from all over the county submitted their works. The jury assessed 39 works: 24 wreaths and 15 harvest ornaments.

Solemn Welcome

The Starosta of Brodnica, Paweł Szramka, welcomed the participants, thanking them for their commitment. He emphasized how difficult a task awaits the judging panel, considering the high level of all the works.

The Jury's Verdict

The competition jury, consisting of Mirosława Karpowicz, Piotr Grążawski, and Edyta Blank-Tadra, assessed the works in terms of the selection of natural materials, adherence to tradition, symbolism, aesthetic qualities, composition, color scheme, workmanship, and degree of difficulty.

Competition Laureates

In the "Most Beautiful Harvest Wreath" category, KGW Gminy Górzno won, second place was taken by KGW Konojady z Tradycją, and third place - KGW Mszano. In the "Most Beautiful Harvest Ornament" category, KGW Grzybno triumphed, second place was won by "Bobrowianki" from Bobrowo, and third place – KGW "Aktywne Razem" from Wichulec. An additional prize funded by the County Councilors was awarded to KGW in Sumin.

County and Commune Harvest Festival in Świedziebnia

The official presentation of diplomas and awards will take place during the County and Commune Harvest Festival in Świedziebnia, September 6, 2025.

Representation at the Voivodeship Harvest Festival

The winners - KGW Gminy Górzno and KGW Grzybno - will represent the Brodnica County at the Harvest Festival of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and the Diocese of Bydgoszcz, which will take place on August 31 in Bydgoszcz.
