Oral Vaccine Drops for Foxes in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province

The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Provincial Veterinary Officer informs that on September 26th and 27th, 2025, a vaccination campaign against rabies for foxes will take place in the eastern part of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie province. Vaccines will be dropped from airplanes in the form of baits.

Campaign Area

The drops will cover the following districts: Brodnica, Rypin, Lipno, Włocławek, Golub-Dobrzyń, Aleksandrów, Radziejów, Wąbrzeźno (municipalities Książki, Dębowa Łąka, Ryńsk), Toruń (municipalities Obrowo, Lubicz, Czernikowo).

Bait Appearance

The baits are greenish-brown cone-shaped lozenges (approx. 4.5 cm in diameter, 2 cm high) made of meat and fish mass, containing a gel sachet with the vaccine.

Recommendations of the Provincial Veterinary Officer:

• Do not touch or destroy the baits.
• Do not let dogs and cats roam freely, especially in forests and fields. Hunting with dogs is prohibited for 3 weeks after the drop.
• Avoid large group trips to the forest, especially with children and teenagers, during and for 3 weeks after the drops.
• Report human contact with the vaccine to medical services, and if contact occurs with wounds, eyes, mouth, or nose, immediately wash with soap and water.
• Report contact of domestic animals with baits to veterinary services.
• Instruct children about the above rules.
